I love an oatstraw/nettle infusion and would always love to learn more about oats. Thanks for the opportunity for such a nice giveaway! I love MRH….it would be easier to tell you what I don’t like on their site, which is nothing! I could spend literally hours browsing… Just to name a few lovelies…I love their selection of hydrosols and they are exquisite quality. The beeswax pastilles are the perfect size for melting. They also have a great selection of containers for herbal creations. You can find anything you need for herbie products there.
I don’t know how to use any of these so can’t wait to learn!

Yum! I love my oat top infusions, and have enjoyed growing oats in the past. I grew a few oat groats in a pot this year (since our farm is not ready to plant) and harvested a few oat tops from it! Delighted that you’re focusing on Oats this month.
What I love about Mountain Rose Herbs — their gorgeous blog, the fantastic info on each herb, folk and contemporary info. And that I have a great source for my own oat tops and many other marvelous herbs when I can’t grow my own or don’t have enough!

Love oats-try using ground up oats for a facial scrub–use a couple of tablespoons of powder and some water and gently scrub your face (avoiding your eyes)

Oatstraw… ooooooo, one of my favorite yummy teas and ingredients in a bath! I’ve been thinking about making a little stash of Echinacea purpurea tincture later this summer.
Some of my Mtn Rose Herb favorites are: the bulk herbs & spices, the butters and wax, the Fairytale and Peace Teas.
The one item they have which I haven’t tried yet are the “Flowering Teas”.

Have two grandkids who are so intensely interested in learning about plants and how to use them. Granddaughter began her training when only two as she asked questions about plants and such on garden or woodland walks. She loved and still loves to feel the leaves, stems and such – to smell them and sometimes taste them (although once, I stopped her just as she was about to check out poison ivy along a trail…LOL)
My grandson, 8, will be staying with me for a while in July and loves going out to pick berries, make jellies and jams, learn how to use plants for healing, teas, pleasure, food and all manner of things. I just received ‘Wildcraft’ game, which I so look forward to playing with those two during the visit. They both are looking forward to learning how to play the game….and what secrets lie within…

I love MRH’s website, there are so many things to read. There is a lot of informational links in the herbal section which I find particularly useful. And of course all the salts and spices are bonus when it’s time to order.

From my understanding, Oatstraw is rich in calcium and magnesium. It can be used for healthier skin and bones. It may help with depression and also helps with both physical and nervous fatigue. I am in my mid-fifties and could use all the natural help that I can get.

What is not to love about MRH and Herbal RootsZine?! I visit their sites almost everyday looking for one thing or another and my kids and I have been enjoying the magazine and all of the wonderful activities.
I drink oat straw and nettle infusions every mornings and made a wonderful herb pillow with oat straw. Min fact, I am currently out of it because I used the last in the pillow so it would be great to stock up!
