Did you know that Native Americans used Sumac for food, as well as medicine? The shoots and roots are edible. The berries, in themselves, are good for using in a cooling drink. Sumac contains Vitamin C, so don’t be surprised if the drink reminds you of lemonade. Sumac has been used in jellies, teas, pies, salads, and entrees. What whets your appetite the most?
