Giveaway Monday – Wooden Bear from MamaRoots

This week’s giveaway is for an adorable wooden Sun Bear from Chris of MamaRoots! Sun bears are fascinating creatures! They are about half the size of an American black bear and prefer to sleep during the day and forage at night. They love to climb trees and often build platforms up in the trees for sleeping on! To read up more on these sweet little bears with the golden crest on their chest, check out National Geographic’s page on them.

This little wooden version would love to hang around on your nature table, bringing sunshine back your way during the dark winter days!

Chris hand makes all her wooden toys, sands them down, hand stamps or wood burns them, paints them with all natural watercolors and seals them with a all natural homemade sealer to give them a softly buffed shine that delights both children and adults alike. Her collections often feature characters from story books, Waldorf and Montessori inspired learning tools and small journals that are perfect for younger kids learning to write and draw nature journal style. All these items and more can be found in her fun etsy shop. You’ll find all sorts of inspiration for storytelling, birthday celebrations, play time, nature tables and more. Father Frost is my current favorite, as he is visiting us as I type up this giveaway posting! What a sweet way to celebrate winter on the nature table, better than trying to keep a snowball on there! 😉

If you’d like to become a fan of Chris’ Facebook page, you can find it here.

In her shop, I love the slug the best. It reminds me of the banana slugs in the redwoods!
