Geninne is an artist who lives with her husband and two teenage sons in sunny Mexico. Her art reflects her location through the vibrant, warm colors and sunny feel to them. She often combines old stamps, envelopes, postcards and other media to make mixed media paintings that are just lovely! Her Collage Bird series are so fun! The majority of her paintings feature birds and flowers or fungi and all are enchanting. You can see the Collage Bird series and more at her etsy shop.

“My name is Max and I’m nine. What I love about Herbal Roots Zine is the Herbal Lore sections and the recipes. I like to read the stories to my little sisters, and my sister Micah is always really good at finding herbs in the woods around our house. I think everyone should know about how we can use the herbs around us because then maybe people wouldn’t be so eager to destroy the woods where the herbs live. In my town, people want to build a bypass through a creek and natural area that I love. Is there any herb I could find in the woods that would be important enough to keep them from building a bypass there? Thanks.”

  61. 61

    Hi Max,

You might want to check out United Plant Savers for a list of endangered plants. Good luck, I hope you’re able to save your creek!
