January 2016 – A Call for Cumin

jan16

Cumin is the second most used spice in the world, after Black Pepper. Cumin has also traditionally been used in herbal medicine but has fallen out of use in favor of other herbs that are more pleasant tasting. While the tea alone may not be the best flavor, Cumin’s use in culinary practice can add his medicinal properties to food and is a valuable asset for promoting healthy digestion and more.

This month we’ll discuss traditional and modern uses of Cumin, his nutritional aspects and how we can benefit from using Cumin.
