February 1 Calendar Entry

A lot of us in North America are experiencing an ice storm right now. Once it clears up, it will be the perfect time to go gathering Cottonwood buds. The cottonwood tree is very tall and it can be hard to harvest buds from the trees but Mother Earth knows how to provide medicine for us at the right times. The cottonwood branches are very brittle so wind and ice cause twigs to snap off, enabling this mighty tree to share his or her medicine with us!

Seek out Cottonwood trees near riverbanks and streams. They like water!
