June 7, 2013 Calendar Entry

It is time to learn a bit of botany about Horseradish. Did you know that he can grow to be 5 feet tall? Leaves grow straight up from the ground. Sometimes, a leaf can become 2 feet long. The flowers have four petals and grow out of the center of the stalk. We hope that you will be able to find him on your nature walks. For more information, turn to Herbal Botany on page 19. Once there, you will find some diagrams that your young ones can label. Have fun!
