November 5, 2013

We hope that you enjoyed writing down your thoughts about Oak on Friday. Are you ready to craft the first recipe of November? Today, we will begin our Oak Extracts.  Oak acts as an anti-inflammatory. Some people use him to to help them with their cold symptoms. He also helps as a gargle for sore throats and or as a mouth wash for sore and bleeding gums. If you have some White Oak twigs, grain alcohol, and water, then you are ready to get started. Turn to page 28 for instructions. The extract will need to steep for about 4-6 weeks. We will return here at the end of the month to share how our extracts are doing. Enjoy!
